Design Competition for Orac Decor

Design Competition for Orac Decor (Living Room)

The concept of the room designed for this competition was built around 3D panels from Orac Decor. To start, the panels were connected vertically (panel width and ceiling height) and separated with brass inserts of 2 cm each. Then, the inner area of the panel was painted black while the outer sector was painted green to create a reptile skin imitation. The idea was to convey the metaphorical image of a snake – widely regarded as a symbol of temptation, wisdom, power, and tranquillity.

Polished brass was used to construct beautiful frames and accents, and it engendered a feeling of vertical gardening with rare tropical plants; this merged seamlessly with the reptile theme. Between the furniture in the room, coffee tables (made of wood and metal) of different diameters were placed. Descending down from the resting area was a large chandelier that created a look of water dripping from glass. And the panels on the walls were complemented by textiles on the windows. However, for the most part, the textiles were designed to be flowing and monophonic.

Throughout the living room, plants were placed strategically to add a cosy atmosphere and supplement the stone and decorative elements. One section of the interior wall was dedicated to contemporary art, with the 3D panel acting as a background on one side, and as contrast on the opposite wall.

For this design, we made sure every part was united and the space recharges the energy of anyone present. We also combined flora and fauna, natural and artificial, simplicity and luxury, and good and evil into one space – and they all complemented each other seamlessly.
